EVEN HOPING MACHINES GET THE BLUES
GREAT LAKES STATES U.S.A.
EVEN HOPING MACHINES GET THE BLUES was an experiment in tasks almost impossible -- to pull oneself up by one's own bootstraps during the three-day development of a blithe and bluesy HOPING MACHINE designed for coastal peregrination. Construction was made possible by the buoyant outdoor ambiance during a residency at ATTIC 19 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Since its debut, this HOPING MACHINE has traveled to Lake Erie, Lake Michigan, and Lake Superior. It will continue the inner coastal tour for every beach season, providing shade and solitude to the tune of "OH GREAT LAKERS, NO BELLY-ACHERS."
A ripple-effect of this project has been the development of parallel LITTLE HOPING MACHINES. By means of conversational distribution and community-based gifting, self-sized LITTLE HOPING MACHINES operate via knapsacks, doorways, windows, and wide open hands.
