I Carry My Death With Me

Cross-Country USA (2009)

✳ Collaborator: Lisa Lipton

A six-week nomadic project that explored endings, edges, and the afterlife of relationships. Working from a movement-based process and conversation-based collaboration, both artists explored their own rituals of grief and sorrow while on a journey to the bottom of the world (or at least, to the lowest point in North America). My work during this journey was an effort to allow myself the freedom of mourning. The body of work included a traveling installation that the artists lived in, site-specific performance, project-specific wardrobe, a series of photographs, a single-edition book, and a film produced by Lisa Lipton.
